Minimum wage rates for employees in Vietnamese companies, enterprises


The Government issued Decree No. 110/2008/ND-CP dated October 10, 2008 on minimum wage rates for laborers working in Vietnamese companies and enterprises, co-operative, farms, households, individuals and other Vietnam's organizations which renting laborers.
The regional minimum wage rate for laborers doing the most basic work in normal working conditions in companies (includes one member limited liability company with 100% state-owned capital); enterprises (except foreign-invested capital companies) established under the Law on Enterprises; co-operative, union co-operative, farms, households, individuals and other Vietnam organizations which renting laborers is VND 650,000 per month. The maximum one is VND 800,000 per month. Wages rates applicable for enterprises operating in different areas are regulated in Annexes enclosed with the Decree. Based on this minimum wage rate, enterprises adjust the wages for laborers in labor contracts and are encouraged to apply the minimum wage rate higher than the above mentioned one.

The Decree was published on the Official Gazette on October 25, 2008 and comes into effect as from January 1, 2009. Decree No. 167/2007/NC-CP dated on 16 November, 2007 on the same matter was abrogated
